What is my login name and password?

A login name and password are required to log into the email server. The login name is commonly known. The password should be kept secret. You can change your password and you can gain access to your email again if you forget your password.

Nebo School District has two domains for email, one for staff and one for students.

    Staff Domain

Staff login names are of the form firstname.lastname. For example, Fred Flintstone's login name would be fred.flintstone.

There is a Directory link on the WebMail entrance for the staff domain. This Directory can be used for guests to lookup your email address. Use the Directory as a reference if you're uncertain of the exact format of your login name.

    Student Domain

Student login names will be the students initials and ID. For example, if Pebbles Flintstone's student ID was 12345, her login name would be pf12345.

Student passwords are initially set to the student's last names. To prevent abuse of your email account, you should change your password the first time you login. You can choose to configure your email account to send your forgotten password to your teacher or parent.

    What is my email address?

Your email address is your login name followed by your domain. This is the address you give people for them to use when sending you email.

    Staff Domain

For example, Fred Flinstone's email address would be fred.flintstone@nebo.edu.

There is a Directory link on the WebMail entrance for the staff domain. This Directory can be used for guests to lookup your email address. Use the Directory as a reference if you're uncertain of the exact format of your email address.

    Student Domain

For example, if Pebbles Flintstone's student ID was 12345, her email address would be pf12345@students.nebo.edu.

There is no Directory link on the WebMail entrance for the student domain.

    Can I change my password?

Yes. Access your email account using the WebMail entrance for your domain, then follow the instructions to change your password.

What if I forgot my password?

Don't fret. Contact the appropriate person and your password can be changed.

If you choose, you can setup your email account for password recovery. This allows your current password to be sent to a trusted email address if it is forgotten. For example, employees could configure their forgotten password to be sent to their spouse or supervisor. Students could have theirs sent to their teacher or parent.

You must be logged in to activate this feature. Hence, password recovery can only be setup if you know your current password.

How do I setup password recovery?

Can my email address be changed?

    Yes.

    Staff Domain

Employees may want to change their email address if they get married or their email address was setup using a name they don't go by (many people go by their middle name or a shorter version of their first name). This can be changed by contacting the email manager at the District Office.

    Student Domain

If you are frightened by abusive email you are receiving, don't delay in having your email address changed. Contact the email manager at your school.

What if my web browser is automatically entering my password?

Some web browsers will remember passwords you have typed in at web sites. If your web browser has saved your WebMail password, your password will be automatically entered after typing in your login name. This allows anyone using your computer to read and send email from your account. The following steps clear saved passwords from Microsoft Internet Explorer running on a Windows computer.

In the future, if you're asked "Do you want your password remembered?" the appropriate answer is "No."
