The Huntsman Awards for Excellence in Education is celebrating their 25th year recognizing the importance of school education. Friday, May 12, 2017, Jennifer Huntsman Parkin welcomed the new inductees, as well as the winners from each of the previous 24 years.

Jon and Karen Huntsman welcomed and thanked the winners, their families, and their nominators in the audience for their impact on others. They shared personal stories of why education is important and explained, “The children of today will become adult citizens and leaders of tomorrow.”

Park View Elementary Students Engage with Nebo School Board of Education

Principal Shanna Stirland expressed her appreciation to the Nebo School Board of Education and what an honor it is to serve as principal of Park View Elementary for the past three years. She loves working with supportive parents, awesome students, and hardworking teachers–teachers who are always looking to improve instructional strategies in order to help students become successful. This is just a snippet of the wonderful things happening at Park View.

Nebo School District’s Seventh Annual Super Star Track & Field Day

Nebo School District and Maple Mountain High has held an annual Super Star Track and Field Day for the past seven years. This is not any ordinary track and field event. In fact is it held for “Super Stars”--Nebo’s special needs students. 

Students and Parents Inspired by Hope of America Program

Nebo’s fifth-grade students participated in the Utah County Hope of America Program sponsored by the America’s Freedom Foundation.  Nebo students practiced songs, including actions, in preparation for this patriotic musical celebration.  

The performance was inspiring for students and parents that were able to participate and attend the Hope of America program held in the Brigham Young University Marriott Center. 

Orchard Hills Students Present to Nebo School Board of Education

Principal Ryan Murray addressed the Nebo School Board of Education and expressed how thankful he is for the wonderful parents that support the great children of Orchard Hills Elementary.  He is also thankful for the dedicated teachers and introduced one teacher, Tammy Dragger that then led the students in an orchestra performance to the delight of the board and to all those in attendance. 

High School Youth Board meets with Nebo School District Board of Education - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

The Nebo School Board of Education and Superintendent Nielsen meets with students from each of the high schools and junior high schools on a quarterly basis. Each Youth Board representative is selected by his/her principal to be a spokesperson for their school.
