Nebo School District wants to showcase our Positive Energy and Kind employees. PEAK Awards are nominated by patrons and recognized by the Superintendent Staff and Nebo School Board of Education. The award is administered by the Communications and Community Relations Department.

Cherry Creek Celebrates Lighthouse Achievement with Community Event

Cherry Creek Elementary in Springville recently became the newest Lighthouse School after four years of implementing “The Leader In Me” program. This award is given by Franklin Covey Company to schools who have demonstrated excellence and consistency in implementing “The Leader In Me,” a school transformational model based on Steven Covey's 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Spanish Fork Rotary and Chamber Raise Funds for 20 $1,500 Scholarships

Spanish Fork Rotary and Chamber Raise Funds in Annual Golf TournamentSpanish Fork Rotary and Chamber held their annual golf tournament at Spanish Oaks Golf course on May 9, 2018. The annual tournament has been held for the last 26 years.

Many thanks to businesses and individuals that support this tournament each year. The tournament was completely full and raised enough funds to give 20 $1,500 scholarships to Nebo students.

Nebo students will be our future community leaders so thank you for the generous support.

According to a 2017 study by the world’s largest airplane manufacturer, Boeing Commercial Airplane Company, North America will need 117,000 airline pilots between now and 2036. Much has been written in the past couple of years about the current and future pilot shortage. There has never been a better time in the 114 year history of the airplane to become a professional pilot. 

Kendall Bosch Honored Technology Teacher at East Meadows

Kendall Bosch, a sixth-grade teacher at East Meadows Elementary, is a great example of a technology leader at her school. Being an intern doesn't stop her from finding engaging technology tools to integrate into her lessons. Ms. Bosch uses a variety of online formative assessments to help guide her instruction. From Kahoot and Quizlet Live to Google Forms and Quizizz, she finds the best tool to meet the needs of her students.

Battle of the Books Championship Team -- MJHS

On April 30, 2018 Mapleton Jr. High School and Diamond Fork Jr. High School met in the library at Diamond Fork Junior High for a district Battle of the Books for Junior High.

Librarian, Ellen-Anita Olson said, "We had a lot of fun. The team "ShardBearers" from Mapleton Junior High School won the district competition."

The winning team of the Battle of the Book competition was from Mapleton Junior High called the Shard Bearers.

Maple Mountain High Wins National Welding Competition

Florence, SC – ESAB Welding & Cutting Products announced that Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah, and Pickens Technical College in Aurora, Col., are the grand prize winners of ESAB’s inaugural Weld It Forward student contest. Each school will receive a $20,000 equipment and filler metal package. Every student member of the winning team will receive a $250 cash prize and a SENTINEL™ A50 auto-darkening helmet, while student members on teams from the four semi-finalist schools will receive a SENTINEL helmet.
