Nebo School District is pleased to announce administrative assignments for the school year 2012-13. 

Sandra Jarvis – Human Resource Coordinator
The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Sandra Jarvis as the Human Resource Coordinator for Nebo School District. Sandra received her Bachelor’s of Education and Master’s of Administration from Brigham Young University.

Joy Maughan – Secretary, Maple Mountain High
Joy is always the first person to arrive at school.  She always greets everyone with a big smile as they arrive, creating a friendly and caring atmosphere.  She makes everyone feel important--students, parents, faculty, delivery people, etc.  She is an excellent office manager and no task is too small or too large for her.  She is definitely a people pleaser.  Everyone loves Joy!

Region 10 PTA Awards

Celeste Gledhill, Mapleton Elementary Principal, Named PTA Golden Apple Outstanding Administrator for Region 10 of Utah. Region 10 includes Provo, Nebo, Tintic, and Juab School Districts.

Christy Nemelka, Mapleton PTA volunteer, Named PTA Golden Apple Outstanding Administrator for Region 10 of Utah. Region 10 includes Provo, Nebo, Tintic, and Juab School Districts.

Sheri Jensen, Mapleton Elementary Teacher, Named Golden Apple Outstanding Educator for the Springville/Mapleton Area.

Food Services Spring Fling

As part of the Food Services Spring Fling. Nebo Food Services honored five retirees, and awarded service pins for employees. There were 175 employees in attendance. All enjoyed a wonderful meal, rubbed shoulders together, and enjoyed each others company. Prizes were awarded to lucky recipients.

We appreciate all the years of service these wonderful employees have provided.

Chess Tournament Winner

Karson Oyler, a first grader at Riverview, won 3rd place at a State Chess Tournament recently. 66 first graders competed . Karson played 6 games and won 5 of them! He is very proud of his trophy, and we are all very proud of him! Great job Karson!!!

Sage Creek's Secret Garden

There is a Secret Garden at Sage Creek Elementary! Media Specialist, Marsha Rasmussen, has created a “Secret Garden” in the Media Center’s kiva for all students to enjoy. The kiva is created after the book, The Secret Garden, a novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, which was initially published in the autumn of 1910 and has been a favorite of children and adults ever since. Sage Creek students will enjoy the Garden atmosphere as they enjoy media and other presentations during library and class time. Thank you Mrs. Rasmussen!

KSL Radio and Zions Bank honored Patty Garcia, a kindergarten teacher at Santaquin Elementary, for the "Teacher Feature" program this past week.  This program was developed to recognize outstanding teachers who have gone the extra mile, not only in the classroom, but who have also made a significant impact on many young lives. 

Nebo Offers Preschool Screenings

Title 1 Preschool Screenings
April 27, and May 4, 2012

Each year, Nebo School District offers free screenings for children ages 3 and 4 (very limited 3-year-old spots) who live within Title 1 school catchment areas to apply for preschool.  Preschool is offered free of charge, but parents are expected to volunteer in the classroom each month.  The preschool age child must be 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2012.  Please call your school to make an appointment.
