Save the Kids Free Parent Education Night

All invited to the #savethekids free Parent Education Night sponsored by Nebo School District on November 5, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium at Springville High auditorium at 1205 East 900 South in Springville, Utah.

Collin Kartchner and Dr. Katey McPherson will lead a discussion on:

  • Balancing screen time and device use,
  • Protecting and cultivating our children's self worth,
  • Devising a sensible family use of device plan.

Nebo Student Takes Fourth at Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS- Winners of the National FFA Prepared Public Speaking Leadership Development Event (LDE) were announced Friday October 26th at the seventh session of the National FFA Convention & Expo. The event was held in conjunction with the 91st National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis. Mr. E.L. Caraway of Texas served as superintendent of this year's event. The top four individuals received cash awards to recognize their success in the event. The cash awards and the prepared public speaking event are sponsored by Monsanto.

Spanish Fork Rotary and Surrounding Businesses Donate Dictionaries

The Spanish Fork Rotary Club partnered with The Dictionary Project to provide student dictionaries for over 1700 third-graders in Nebo School District. Due to the generosity of many local sponsors, this project was made possible.

The Dictionary Project, founded in 1995 by Mary French, has provided over 31 million children with student dictionaries. The project exists with the goal to “assist all students in becoming good writers, active readers, creative thinkers, and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionary.”

Nebo School District Marching Bands are Winning Big!

Congratulations to Nebo School District marching bands for their recent successes at various competitions! All of the high school marching bands in Nebo School District have placed in the top three at more than one competition, while each receiving various caption awards. Great job to their directors and to the dedicated band members.

Salem Hills High School Singers Perform at Prestige Conference

On October 27, 2018, the Salem Hills High School Singers, premiere choral ensemble from Salem Hills High in Nebo School District, performed at the Fall Conference of the Utah Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. Held at The Waterford School in Sandy, Utah, the concert was attended by many of Utah’s leading choral directors from secondary schools, children’s choirs, universities, and professional choirs.

Nebo Student Named Utah Valley Student of the Week

Springville High student, Elizabeth Rex, in Nebo School District, has been recognized in the Daily Herald for her leadership and service to Springville students. Well done Elizabeth!

Superintendent Nielsen and Nebo School Board Meet with Student Leaders - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

The Nebo School District Board of Education and Superintendent Rick Nielsen meets with students from each of the local high schools and junior high schools on a quarterly basis. Each Youth Board representative is selected by his/her principal to be a spokesperson for their school.

This month, the Nebo School Board asked the high school Youth Board students questions. The high school students, in turn, discussed their feelings on school safety, what they’ve gain from their education, resilience, and the Nebo School District bond.
