Forbes Named Nebo School District America’s Best-in-State Employer for 2019

Forbes Media and Statista Inc. are proud to announce that Nebo School District has been named inaugural Forbes 2019 list of America’s Best-in-State Employers for 2019.

Assistant Superintendent Scott Wilson, said, “It is an honor to be spotlighted in such a way. All the credit goes to ALL the wonderful employees of Nebo School District. That is what this honor is about. Everyone working together is why Nebo School District is a great district!”

William Rex, Hobble Creek Elementary, selected as Daily Herald’s Student of the week.

William Rex, Hobble Creek Elementary, selected as Daily Herald’s Student of the week.

William Rex, a student at Hobble Creek Elementary, was  nominated as this week’s Utah Valley student of the week.

The 11-year-old sixth-grader from Springville has a love of flag football, basketball, reading and hanging out with friends and family.

William is serving as the president of the sixth grade and strives to be a good influence.

Tami Johnson, Hobble Creek Elementary, selected as Daily Herald’s Educator of the week.

Tami Johnson, a first- and fourth-grade teacher at Hobble Creek Elementary, was nominated as this week’s Utah Valley educator of the week.

Ms. Johnson is actively involved working with the youth in her community through her church. When she is not spending hours at school helping her students, she works with adolescents in her neighborhood and church groups. She has also served on the Salem Hills Football Booster Club for many years.

Nebo Credit Union “Warms the Soles” for Nebo Students

Nebo Credit Union “Warms the Soles” for Nebo Students

For twenty Christmases, Nebo Credit Union, with the help of local businesses and community members, has participated in “Warm the Soles,” a fundraiser organized to provide new shoes for students. Beginning in 1999 with only 25 pairs of shoes, the effort has grown to providing 1,248 pairs of shoes for students in 46 schools.

Student Honored at Utah State Senate for Artistic Talent

Julia Hart, sophomore at Maple Mountain High in Nebo School District, was selected by the Utah State Senate Visual Arts competition to represent the state and Nebo School District for her 9"X12" pencil drawing referencing a 1905 photographic portrait by Edward Curtis of the Sioux Lakota warrior “Chief Three Horses.”

Spanish Fork High School FFA Chapter Honors Spanish Fork Police Department

Spanish Fork High School FFA Chapter Honors Spanish Fork Police Department by declaring December 16, 2019, "Blue to Blue" day. Spanish Fork High’s FFA presented Spanish Fork Police department, in a small ceremony, with 45 turkeys, 45 poinsettias and thank you cards in gratitude for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to the Spanish Fork Community. Gifts were raised and grown by the FFA students in the agriculture program at Spanish Fork High School. Spanish Fork Police Department we thank you for your service!

Payson High Exposes Students to 51 Careers - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

Payson High School (PHS) hosted 51 professional career specialists on December 17. Many of these professions are in need of quality employees and have a special connection back to PHS. The connection may include graduating from PHS, a parent of a PHS student, or have a profession in the area.
