Nebo Student, Ashlynn Gappmayer, Recognized as Student of the Week

Nebo student, Ashlynn Gappmayer, a student at Canyon Elementary was selected as the Daily Herald Student of the Week in April.

"Ashlynn’s teachers recognize her as an outstanding student in character and academics. She is a happy student from the time she walks through the classroom door until school day’s end. She is a dedicated reader both personally and with buddy readers in first grade. Her quality of work is superior for her age group. Her subject areas are always completed on time with her expertise and finesse."

Daily Herald Educator of the Week -- Peggy Beatty, Canyon Elementary

Nebo educator, Peggy Beatty, a teacher at Canyon Elementary was selected as the Daily Herald Educator of the Week in April.

"Mrs. Beatty is a devoted and dedicated teacher. She is often the first one at school and the last to leave. She is an active learner and works very hard to ensure that her students learn and succeed. She has made it a goal to include the arts and technology in her classroom."

Nebo Youth Philharmonic Performs

Nebo School District’s amazing Nebo Youth Philharmonic students and their three conductors played beautifully at the Nebo Youth Philharmonic concert last night. Nebo is proud of these talented musicians. 

Julie Christofferson, Nebo Fine Arts Specialist, said, “We will miss these great senior kids! Three of them also played concerto movements by Mozart, Strauss and Shostakovich, on the piano. Six of them will be performing in a few weeks on a Pro Am event with the Utah Symphony.

Congratulations and thank you, students and teachers, for being Nebo Heroes!

The Specialized Foundation Announces 2019 Riding for Focus Grant Recipients

Diamond Fork Junior received a wonderful surprise from The Specialized Foundation. Specialized granted 41 new middle school grant recipients for the 2019-2020 Riding for Focus school program. With the addition of these new schools, The Specialized Foundation will now support more than 33,000 new students next year, across 130 schools, in 45 states and Canada.

Nebo School District Art Show on Display at Springville Library - Answer to Wednesday Challenge

The Nebo School District Junior High Art Show is currently on display upstairs in the Springville Library at 45 South Main Street, Springville. The art show features more than 70 pieces of art from junior high students across the district.  

On the evening of Monday, April 29 there was an opening reception where students and families were able to mingle and view the show. Refreshments were enjoyed and prizes were awarded for winning artwork.  Prizes were graciously donated by Artist Corner in Orem.

Spring Lake Elementary Presents to Nebo School Board of Education

Spring Lake Principal, Mrs. Teresa Jordan, thanked the Nebo School Board of Education for the opportunity to present to the board. She mentioned that she had been the principal at Spring Lake for the past two years, and the school had accomplished a lot with big dreams and tall ambitions for the future.

Principal Jordan said, “Spring Lake Elementary’s mission is: ‘Empowering Students to Soar to Success’.
