Payson High School on a National Broadcast

“This American Life” national radio show came to Payson High School to spotlight some amazing “Grand Gestures” going on at one of Nebo’s high schools. 

Miki Meek, the producer and reporter for “This American Life”, who also graduated from Payson High School in 1997, said the Payson High School spot will kick of their show of “Grand Gestures” on February 18.

SheTech Exployer Day Register by February 17

SheTech Explorer Day is a hands-on tech conference is on March 3 for high school girls 9th through 12th grade. This day-long event will include hands-on workshops in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).  The ultimate goal is to expose girls to technology in a fun atmosphere as well as meet STEM role models to learn more about opportunities in those fields.

Nebo’s CTE Administrator Recognized by State

Alan Ashton, Nebo's Career & Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator, was honored as Administrator of the Year by the Utah Association Career and Technical Education UACTE.

Mr. Ashton helped create the Advanced Learning Center (ALC), an early college and career center. He pushed to have the center focus on pathways and concurrent enrollment.  Mr. Ashton’s philosophy and educational mantra is that a CTE class should always lead to another class, certification, or opportunity to learn. CTE has always been a major part of Alan's life.

Alicia Rudd – Elementary Coordinator

With the recent appointment of Dave Rowe as Elementary Director, the Nebo School Board of Education appointed Alicia Rudd as the new Elementary Coordinator.

Mrs. Rudd received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University and completed her Master’s in Education degree from Southern Utah University. In 2007, Alicia earned her Administrative Education license from Southern Utah University.

Robert Fleming – Human Resource Coordinator

Robert Fleming was appointed by the Nebo School Board of Education as Human Resource Coordinator for Nebo School District. He will fill the vacancy left by Sandra Jarvis upon her retirement. Robert received his bachelor’s degree in history and his  master's degree in Education Leadership both from Brigham Young University.

With the appointment of Matt Gledhill as the Operations Director, the Nebo Board of Education appointed Frank Daybell as the Operations Coordinator. Mr. Daybell received his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University and a master’s degree in Administrative Education from Southern Utah University.

Ben Ford – Peak Center Administrator

Wade Tischner, the current administrator of the Advanced Learning Center, was called up to serve on tour in the Middle East with the National Guard. The Nebo School Board of Education appointed Ben Ford as the Peak Center and Advanced Learning Center (ALC) Administrator.

Dr. RaShel Anderson Shepherd – Payson High School Principal

With the recent administrative move of Ben Ford as the PEAK Center Administrator, the Nebo Board of Education appointed RaShel Anderson Shepherd as the principal of Payson High School for Nebo School District. 

Dr. Shepherd graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics Education, her Master of Arts degree from University of Phoenix in Educational Counseling, and her doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University.
