Jane Wilson, a sixth-grade student in Shauna Huffaker’s class at Art City Elementary in Nebo School District, was noticed for her fine art work that was completed in the monthly art program where parent helpers come to teach. Claudia Jex, visual art curriculum specialist, said she noticed Jane’s talent and sent some of her art work to the Crayola Company.

Youth School Board meets with Nebo School District Board of Education
A highlight for the Nebo School Board of Education is to meet with students from each of the high schools and junior high schools on a quarterly basis. Each Youth Board representative is selected by his/her principal to be a spokesperson for their school.
The Nebo School Board took this opportunity to ask the Youth Board students questions concerning college and career readiness, technology and one-to-one devices, and readiness for mathematics.
Nebo Shines at Utah State Elementary Division I Debate
James Chamberlain and Nathan Galbraith, Hobble Creek Elementary, won the Elementary Division I First Place Affirmative Trophy at the Utah State Debate Meet on April 24.
Brockbank students, Elley Colledge and Natasha Bryson, won Elementary Division I Fourth Place Negative. Katelyn Hurst and Katelyn Gappmayer also participated in the state debate meet.
In late April, sixth-grade students from throughout Nebo School District assembled together and performed what they had been learning all year at a Monster Concert. The Monster Concert program started eight years ago with only four schools participating from the Springville area. Now, nearly all the elementary schools in the district that offer elementary beginning strings for sixth-grade students participated.
