Coach Andrews Selected as UHSAA Coach of the Year – Answer to Wednesday’s Challenge


Don Andrews, Spanish Fork High coach, was recently named the Utah Softball Coach of the year by the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA).

Coach Andrews has coached fastpitch softball for 14 years.  He has coached 37 All-State players that have 62 All-State Awards. Five players earned state MVP awards, and 6 athletes received the Utah Valley Player of the Year.

Coach of the Year is not new to Don. He has been honored with this award by the Salt Lake Tribune and Daily Herald  in 2006 and by Deseret News and UHSAA this year.

Nebo School District Board of Education Notice of Board Vacancy

Notice is hereby given that the Nebo District Board of Education will take action to fill a vacancy on the Board during their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.  Interviews for the position will be conducted by the Board that same day in an open meeting beginning at 1:00 p.m.  Both meetings will be held at Nebo District Offices, 350 South Main, Spanish Fork, Utah. 

Nebo School District’s Winter Captains’ Academy


Captains and student leaders from six high schools and seven junior high schools attended the Nebo School District’s Winter Academy. The purposes of the Captains’ Academy are to promote sportsmanship between the schools through the captains and leaders working together at the academy, promote better relations between the students and athletes, develop leadership through the academy activities, and develop relationships with coaches and administrators as they present at each academy.

Spring Lake Students Wins Contest -- Answer to Where are we Wednesday


Lillian Spieth, a third-grade student at Spring Lake, received $1,000 as the winner of the Utah State Cabbage Growing Contest. Mr. and Mrs. Terrell from Bonnie Plants; Larry Lewis, a representative from the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food; and Leonard Blackham, the Utah State Commissioner of Agriculture and Food, presented the $1,000 check to Lillian in a school assembly.
