KSL Radio and Zions Bank honored Sunya Osborn, an English teacher at Landmark High in Spanish Fork and a Nebo District literacy specialist, for the "Teacher Feature" program this week. This program was developed to recognize outstanding teachers who have gone the extra mile, not only in the classroom, but who have also made a significant impact on many young lives.

The Nebo Education Foundation is composed of 20 volunteer board members who live in cities serviced by Nebo School District. Board members meet each month to review and award grant requests, consider fund-raising avenues and other items that advance the educational opportunities for Nebo School District students. Many of the donations received are for selected projects or scholarships, yet a substantial amount is available for the greatest need. Greatest need monies are considered for grants submitted by area schools.
David Knudsen was appointed the assistant principal at Maple Mountain High School by the Nebo School Board of Education.
Mr. Knudsen received his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and his master’s in Educational Leadership both from Brigham Young University. He was also a Brigham Young University Leader Preparation Program (LPP) recipient.
Kevin Mecham was appointed the assistant principal at Salem Junior High School by the Nebo School Board of Education.
Mr. Mecham is currently an assistant principal at Payson Junior. Previously he taught mathematics at Payson High for seven years and at Payson Junior High for two years. He was also the student council advisor at Payson High.
Parents of future Salem Junior High students are invited to the Salem Junior High General PTA PARENTS Meeting for the community on Thursday, March 1, at 7:00 p.m. at Salem Hills High School in the library.
At this General PTA Parents Meeting you will have the opportunity to meet the principal, Mrs. Kimball, Salem Junior High teachers, receive an update of Salem Junior High's building progress, review a map of the school, meet the new PTA board members, find out how to join PTA, vote on bylaws for the new PTA, and sign up to help with activities.
Jeri Crosby, music specialist for Nebo School District, was awarded the Outstanding Elementary Music Educator of the Year 2011 by the Utah Music Education Association (UMAE) and the Outstanding String Teacher by the Utah Chapter of the American String Teachers Association.
Jeri Crosby is passionate about music, education and music education. She has enjoyed opportunities to teach preschool through college students throughout her career, and currently enjoys mentoring teachers, developing music curriculum, and supervising the elementary orchestra program in Nebo School District.
Utah Ranks 10th in Percentage of Students Passing AP Exams; Nebo School District Along with two other districts Named to AP Honor Roll
The College Board today announced that with more than one out of five members of the class of 2011 passing an Advanced Placement (AP) exam, Utah ranked tenth in the nation for percentage of students passing AP exams. Utah, California, and Colorado were the only three Western states in the top 10.
