Transportation Outstanding Employees February 2011

Ron Hutton was nominated by Coralee Olson as the Transportation Outstanding Employee for February 2011.

Ron is married to his beautiful wife Andrea. They have two daughters, six and half grand-children, and one great-grandchild. Ron loves his job as a bus driver.

Ron goes above and beyond his job requirements. He scrapes bus windows for others and shovels a pathway to neighboring buses when it snows. He often leaves goodies and is knowledgeable and informative.

Teachers Earning Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Licenses

Grisel Posada is an educational technician at Riverview Elementary. Cindy Sumsion, special education teacher, said, "Grisel is a talented and dedicated technician and is irreplaceable! She feeds a student with a feeding tube every day. Grisel has come up ways to help a particular student develop muscle strength to better support himself and become more independent Grisel has taught me how to take off and put on a student’s coat when one arm is stronger than the other. We absolutely could not meet our special education needs without Grisel’s knowledge.

Utah County 4-H Honors Afterschool Club Leader–Eric Ferrin

Mr. Eric Ferrin, mathematics teacher at Spanish Fork Junior High, was recently honored as Afterschool Club Leader of the Year by Utah County 4-H.

Mr. Ferrin has volunteered to be a club leader for the 4-H Afterschool program every term since it began at Spanish Fork Junior High four years ago. He leads a 3-D Computer Art and Animation Club and a Roller Coaster Tycoon Club. The students learn technical skills as well as how to run a successful business. He is key in running a successful parent showcase.

Canyon Crystal Apple Award to Andrea Pond

Andrea Pond, Canyon Elementary Educational Technician, was honored with the Crystal Apple Award. She has worked at Canyon for the past five years and is currently supervising the Take Home Library. She is very helpful and patient as she interacts with the students and teachers at Canyon Elementary.

Andrea is a hard worker and likes organizing, doing yard work, making crafts, and traveling. Andrea has been employed in a variety of jobs. She was a travel agent and is a licensed manicurist.
