E-Time

E-Time is a program of daily earned time for students. It allows for students needing extra help to work with a specific teacher, and offers enrichment opportunities for students who are passing all classes. The program will work as follows:

Every day, except for Early-Out Wednesdays, each student will receive a report showing their current standing in each class. This report will determine what each individual will be doing with their earned timefor that day. If a student is passing every class with no missing work, he or she will be allowed 25 minutes to participate in the Enrichment or Entertainment activity of choice. Any student who has a D, F or I on their report will report to the teacher of that class for extra help and remediation in mastering the concepts necessary to get to a passing grade.

All activities and remediations are supervised by teachers. Students will receive detailed schedules showing what teachers and activities are available on each given day.

This is a very brief summary of the program. Please check back as more information is added. As always, we will do our best to make sure that parents are informed and students are given every opportunity to succeed. We are very pleased to have the chance to start a program that we believe will serve students so well.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How will I know if I need to go to remediation?

Look at the bottom right-hand corner of the progress report you're given in 3rd period. Are there any D's, F's, or I's printed on your progress report? Then you need to report to that teacher's classroom.

What if my teacher's room is full when I go there for remediation?

You can then proceed to room 22, the remediation study hall, to receive help. Or, if you have another low grade in another class, go to the other teacher's room.

What if I lose my progress report? Can I still get in to the activities?

I'm afraid not. You must hang on to that progress report- it's your ticket in the door. If you don't have it, we'll send you to hang out in Administrative time.

If I finish my remediation work early, can I go to an activity?

Not that day. Once the teacher has updated your grades, you can attend the activities if you're passing all classes. You need to stay in your teacher's room (or your chosen activity) for the whole 25 minutes.

What if my teacher doesn't update my grades right away?

Then you will not able to attend the activities- not until your grades improve. Report to that teacher again. Teachers may not enter grades the same day (hopefully they will), but they will will update them within a couple of days. Think of it this way though: If you flunk a test on Tuesday, but that test isn't added to your grades till Friday evening, you've had three days of Etime fun that you weren't supposed to have. That means that any days you spend waiting for your grade to be updated will make up for those extra days you got.

What if I'm passing everything?

Well done! Give yourself a pat on the back. You can choose from our fun Etime enrichment activities, listed on this calendar. Keep up the good work!

What if I'm in a club, and I need to go to the club meeting, but I have a bad grade?

Then you'll need to go to remediation and miss the club meeting this time. You can talk to the teacher in charge of the club before or after school to find out what you missed. We as teachers want to make sure you're learning and doing well in school, so that comes first.

Any other questions and answers you'd like to see added to the school's Etime page? Email brooke.anderson@nebo.edu with your suggestions. Email any of your child's teachers with questions regarding grades or Etime. We can all help you and will do our best for you.
