The Book List
What makes a good book? A book that's interesting and easy to read. In English class I focus on stretching students' reading comprehension and supporting more difficult reading. At home, I hope students have many chances to read books that they can comprehend without help. The most important thing is that you keep reading and enjoy the process. If you are looking for ideas, I’ve listed some below, organized by popular favorites. While these may be considered generally appropriate for your age group, I encourage parents to discuss the books with their student in order to ensure that the books are also appropriate for your family’s values. I have most of these books in my classroom library, and they're also in the school's library. I haven't read all of these books, but I'm working on it! Happy reading!
