Dear Parents,

What a terrific week we had this past week. I would really like to thank the parents and grandparents who helped out during our Friday Exploration time. We played a game called “Race to 100”, which is really a fun way to teach place value to the kids.

In Math class the students are learning strategies for addition and subtraction. Important vocabulary words include: add, count on, sum, doubles fact, addition fact, addend, doubles plus 1, number sentence, count back and subtract.

Thank you for sending your students to school wearing tennis shoes. This really helps them when running, jumping, exercising etc. Tuesday and Friday are our P.E. days.

When you come to school, please notice our Roxaboxen art on the wall. The kids have worked hard in their small groups to create these wonderful, little communities.

Please come in on Fridays to help out if you can. You don't need to sign up, just come on in. AM class 10:50-11:30. PM class 2:30-3:10.
