Brookside PTA Minutes:

Call to order: Shannon Pexton
Pledge
Treasurer: Passed the budget for the 2008-09 school year

PTA Business- The carnival went well. We made $700.00 for the school. The
company that put it on did a good job with set-up and clean-up. Saves a lot of
hassle by hiring them.

Committee Reports:
Newsletter- If you have any information you need get it to Margy Layton by Monday.
Reflection: Going well. They have enough volunteers.
Book Fair- This years book fair theme is Safari. It will be held in the
library. Parents need to enter not from the entrance by the office but from the
back side. There will be signs to guide the way. The book fair will have 3
volunteers per shift this year. If you would like to volunteer please contact
Marsha Clark at midgeclark74@yahoo.com. The bookfair will run October 21-23rd.
  It will be open a half hour before school and a half hour after.
Halloween Party- This year for Halloween we are having each student decorate a
small pumpkin. These pumpkins will be put on display that afternoon on the
Halloween Parade. EACH STUDENT NEEDS TO EARN $1.00 TO PAY FOR THERE PUMPKIN.
PARENTS PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND MONEY WITH YOUR STUDENT.
Emergency buckets- This year the PTA is helping put together bucket in case of
an emergency and students get stuck at the school for an extended period of
time. The PTA donated a bottle of water for each student and 5 gallon buckets
have been donated by businesses. We need each parent to help us by sending food
that is non-perishable to the school. We ask the food be sent the week of
October 20-24. Food that would be good to send would be granola bars, fruit
snacks, and individual packaged crackers.
