Next week, our last book fair of the year will open. Because this is our Buy 1 Get 1 Free Book Fair, this is a great opportunity to get some great summer reading material for your children. It will be open in the mornings, before school, and at lunch time. It will also be open during our Family Literacy Night on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, March 28th, from 5:30-7:00 pm, we will be having our Family Literacy Night here at the school. Bring your kids for some fun storytelling! Mrs. Mitchell will be singing with her guitar, and the Book Fairy will be here to visit us. Mr. Hunt will also be giving a short class on illustrations. After you're finished visiting our storytellers, there will be some make and take its for your students, along with the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Book Fair on the stage. Refreshments will be served.
Mrs. Osborn was selected as Teacher of the Year for Goshen Elementary! She is such a great teacher who genuinely cares for her students. She is a great mentor to the newer teachers in the school and is someone you can always go to if you have a question. Congratulations Mrs. Osborn! You definitely deserve it!
Kindergarten pre-registration is approaching. This process will be different from past years. Online pre-registration is OPEN until March 23rd at http://goshen.nebo.edu/
On Tuesday, March 20th, parents may come to the school from 8-4 pm. The computer lab will be open to assist parents in the online pre-registration. Please bring the following: a copy of proof of residency, a birth certificate and up-to-date vaccinations. The following vaccines are required for students entering Kindergarten:
- 5 DTP/DTaP/DT - 4 doses if 4th dose was given on/after the 4th birthday
- 4 Polio - 3 doses if 3rd dose was given on/after the 4th birthday
- 2 Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- 3 Hepatitis B
- 2 Hepatitis A
- 2 Varicella (Chickenpox) - history of disease is acceptable, parent must sign verification statement on school immunization record.
Kindergarten Academic Pre-screening will be available on Tuesday, March 20th from 8am – 4pm. It will also be available on August 1, 2018 from 8 am – 4 pm.
Q: When does the fundraiser end?
A: All orders for our fundraiser must be returned to the school by MONDAY, MARCH 12th.
Q: What if I haven't seen the catalog, or my child has lost the catalog?
A: Don't worry! Come to the office to get a new one.
Q: What is the fundraiser for?
A: The money raised in this year's fundraiser will go directly to the teachers for the supplies they need to finish out the year.
