Dragon Scroll: February 2018
Dragons don't let Dragons fight cancer alone
Landmark is a family. Families support and are there for each other. This became even more evident this last year when our attendance secretary Michell Osborn became ill. Doctors had a difficult time determining the cause of her illness, it took months! Eventually she was diagnosed with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma. Her story has helped three other people get a proper diagnosis. We have missed her dearly; as she's been out since the end of last school year. Faculty and staff all showed their support and were able raise over $1000 to help with expenses.
What We're Learning: Anthropology
Several weeks ago, Chelsie anthropology class completed an archaeological dig to finish their unit about archaeology. Students had to map, grid, plot, excavate, and interpret site details to attempt to understand what happened at the sites.
Landmark's Nebo Hero: December 2017
At the beginning of each school year, faculty from around the district come together to hear a positive, empowering message to kick off the new school year. This year's speaker and message was one of the best I've been to; which is really saying something. Author and speaker Kevin Brown shared with us the idea and message of putting forth a H.E.R.O.'s effort. A HERO:

Students of the Month: December

Landmark works to instill in its students 5 Vital Behaviors that will keep our students on the pathway to success, no matter what they choose to do with their lives. To promote these behaviors, we award Student of the Month accolades on 5 students who have excelled in one or more of these behaviors.
For the month of December those students are the following:
Attendance: Caleb Sottiaux- his attendance this term is nearly 100%!
Mental Health Awareness Night
Nebo School District will be hosting a series of Parent Awareness Nights. The topics of discussion will include mental health and safety planning with youth. Several community service providers will be present to answer question and help individuals to access services.
What We're Learning: Student Success Center
Right now students are learning EVERYTHING! After Christmas Break, students have only a couple of weeks before the terms ends. So they are buckling down to make sure their work is taken care of. Janna took this picture during 3rd period today... they were packed down there! Something like 22 students working on work from all subject areas!
