Our school-wide Career Day will be held tomorrow, March 22. We are very excited for this event and have invited 38 speakers and 18 lunchtime vendors to teach your students about different careers. We have posted the list of speakers on the MMHS website on the main page under “Career Day”. If you would like to take a minute and review this list with your child, they will have an idea of the many options available to them. Printed lists will be made available to your student tomorrow in their first period class. Lists will also be available in the front office and counseling office. Our Career Day will go from 9:00-10:15 a.m. The presentations will last 25 minutes and students will have the opportunity to choose two speakers from the list. Please encourage your student to make good use of this time. We have a wide variety of careers and hope that your student will take advantage of this opportunity to talk with professionals in a career they may want to pursue. Our presenters are volunteering their time and we appreciate their efforts.
Our mini-career fair during lunch will have vendors from some local businesses who are currently hiring, cosmetology schools, military, MATC, and more.

Our welding program has made it to the semifinals of a national welding contest. The schools were given the direction of "Weld it Forward" and a deadline. We have built our projects and sent them off to those in need in Mexico. But the majority of our vote comes from public voting starting the 16th of March. Voting ends the 26th of March. You can cast your vote at www.welditforward.com. If we win this, our program will receive a $20,000 supply of new welders.
Our FBLA club returned home from our state competition last night, and they did very well. 8 of our 10 competitors placed in the top 10 at state in 12 different events bringing home a total of 21 certificates! Several students have qualified for Nationals in Baltimore, MD this summer. If you see these awesome future business leaders in class or see them in the hallway, please tell them congrats.
