On Saturday, September 23rd, the MMHS Marching Band competed in the Nebo Invitational Marching Band Competition. Against the odds, the band placed second out of 8 bands in the 2A Division, only missing first place by 0.2 points. They also were awarded the Outstanding Visual Performance Caption. Way to go!!

Where do you want to see yourself in five years? Married and going to college.
What are your favorite hobbies? Soccer and listening to music.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? I would talk to Benjamin Franklin and see what inspired him to help the revolution.
Where do you want to see yourself in five years? I want to see myself in college, getting my degree in Elementary Education. I will have served an LDS mission and be wherever life takes me.
What are your favorite hobbies? My favorite hobbies are spending time with my family and friends, reading, and singing. I also, love to play the guitar, piano, and ukulele.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? I would have a conversation with Vincent Van Gogh, and I would ask him what his favorite masterpiece was.
Where do you want to see yourself in five years? In five years, I will have graduated high school, and I hope to be attending the University of Washington studying to be an occupational therapist.
What are your favorite hobbies? My hobbies include theatre, photography, and hanging out with friends.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? I would have a conversation with Eliza Hamilton, and I would ask her how raising children and being married to a politician in her time was?

Where do you want to see yourself in five years? I would like to be in college, earning a degree in computer engineering. With that kind of skill, I can get a job anywhere. I could also do contract work, or own my own business.
What are your favorite hobbies? I enjoy playing my saxophone. I am in the Maple Mountain Marching Band. I also enjoy graphic design, and building things.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? I would talk to Franklin D. Roosevelt. I think it is incredible how he led our country through the great depression, and through World War II. I admire his strong leadership and clever thinking.
Where do you want to see yourself in five years? In five years I hope to see myself finishing college with my bachelor's degree. And I hope to have returned home from serving an LDS mission.
What are your favorite hobbies? Some of my favorite hobbies include traveling, spending time with my family, and doing theater tech at the school.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? If I could have a conversation with anyone it would be my grandpa I never met. I would ask him for advice and for his life story.
Where do you want to see yourself in five years? I want to go to BYU and get married.
What are your favorite hobbies? I like to play violin and soccer. I love drawing, watercolor, and cooking.
If you could have a conversation with anyone from history, who would it be and what would you ask them? Leonardo Da Vinci, I think all his inventions are really cool, so I'd ask him about them.

Hanslee Peay has been selected as our "Prep of the Week" for his outstanding play as a member of our football team. Hanslee is averaging over 100 yards a game in total offense over the past two games as a running back and slot receiver. He also plays safety on the defensive side of the ball. Hanslee is also an outstanding student in the classroom. Congratulations Hanslee and good luck to you and the Golden Eagles the rest of the season!
The PSAT will be administered at MMHS on Saturday, October 14, 2017. The PSAT serves as a practice test for the SAT as well as the qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship. Sophomores and Juniors may take the test. In order to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship, the PSAT must be taken during the Junior year. Register in the Finance Office, the cost of the test is $20.00 and will be limited to 50 students. See your counselor if you have question or would like more information about the benefits of taking PSAT.
On Monday, September 18th the PreACT Exam will be administered to all Sophomore students. Junior and Senior students do not need to attend on this day. Sophomores will need to bring with them no.2 pencils and an approved calculator if they wish to use one for the math portion of the test. All of the problems on the math test can be solved without the use of a calculator. If you are unsure if your calculator is approved please visit www.act.org/calculator-policy.html. Testing will begin promptly at 8:00 so please be on time. A list of room assignments will be posted by the Counseling Office and Library. Testing will take approximately three hours and buses will arrive to pick up students at 11:15.
Nebo School District is excited to announce the opening of our new Nebo Advanced Learning Center (ALC) Salem location. The Advanced Learning Center provides early college and career courses for high school students. ALC also provides UVU live interactive classes for adults. Please come join us and see what today’s learning looks like at the ALC. The open house will be on Tuesday, September 19, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The ALC building is located at 161 East 400 North, Salem.
