*For those of you who do not complete the online component by August 1st our walk-in registration will be held on August 1st from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. This registration is for those who are new to Nebo, need help with the process, or need access to a computer.
*IF YOU ARE REGISTERED THERE IS NO NEED TO COME TO FACE TO FACE REGISTRATION. You will know you have completed your registration when you get your confirmation email stating so.

School Registration Donations: We want to give a big THANK YOU to all the parents who have generously paid your students registration donation this year. As you may or may not know, these donations are used to fund field trips and activities that go above and beyond the regular classroom experiences. If you did not have a chance to pay a donation please know that you can do this at any time. We have asked for a $25 per student donation if you choose to participate. Again, thank you to those families who have supported the efforts of Taylor Elementary in this matter. If you do not want to donate online and feel more comfortable bringing in cash or check our office will be open 8:00-1:00 Monday through Thursday.

Free and Reduced lunch forms can be found online. Visit www.nebo.edu/parents You will find Free and Reduced information on Nebo Website under Parent Section. You must apply each school year for benefits. Meal Benefit Applications are processed for benefit eligibility at the Nebo District Office site in Spanish Fork by an authorized Child Nutrition Representative beginning mid-July. I suggest you apply for this benefit if you think you will qualify or if you plan to send a home lunch each day with your child but qualify. Our Title I funding each year is based upon the percentage of Free and Reduced lunch qualifiers. The higher the percentage, the more funding we can receive to help enhance the resourcess and learning for our students.
Rocky Mountain ATV, in Payson, made a HUGE donation to Taylor School! Boxes and boxes of school supplies were delivered to Taylor this week full of items for our students to use in the upcoming school year! We love the support our community businesses give us because it makes it possible to not only make sure all of our students are fully supplied for school, but also to do extra things like give student of the month prizes, reading reward incentives, boosts in classroom supplies, surprise drawings, positive behavior rewards, and so much more! Thank you so much Rocky Mountain ATV for helping the students at Taylor and for being so supportive of our school!!!!!

The 2017-18 Honor Roll recipients needed to have completed a minimum of eleven requirements to earn the elite title. Achievements include memorizing the Gettysburg address, the 50 states and capitals, service projects, talent shows, the spelling bee, artwork, 95% attendance and much more! congratulations to these six students for going above and beyond expectations! Students in fifth grade shared their end-of-year program for parents and the school. The program focused on the History of America, the 50 states, as well as a tribute to the armed forces! This is always a fun program for students to share because it gives a small taste of some of the things they have been learning about in class this year.
Taylor Elementary will be open M-TH 8:00-1:00 during the Summer. If you need anything at the school please note that we will have someone in the building during these days and times to assist you.

As this year comes to a close, I want to thank you for all of your support and generosity. The many hours you spend volunteering in the classrooms and at school events clearly shows how invested you are in your child’s education. I love being the Principal here and look forward to many wonderful years with you at Taylor Elementary.
I know some of you are already thinking about next year and wondering what teacher your child will have. I have already received a few requests for teachers so I wanted to explain where I stand with teacher assignments and requests. My official stance is that I do not take teacher requests. I hope this letter helps you understand why I choose this stance. The goal of the school is to provide each child with the best educational experience possible. We recognize the importance of providing high quality instruction in a safe and nurturing environment.
The teachers have been working hard to create balanced classes with their current students for next year. They take into account such things as personalities, academics, behaviors, and special needs. This is a very intensive process that pays dividends in the end. The teachers know your children so well in this environment and work hard to place them with a group of students that best fits their needs. Our experience is that balanced classes make for a better experience for the students and the teachers. I will take on the responsibility of assigning teachers to those classes and making any adjustments based on the needs of specific students.
I recognize there are a few students who have very specific needs that need to be addressed. If you feel your child is one of these, you will need to come in and fill out a specific form in our front office. The opportunity to fill out this form will ONLY be next week (May 14-18th). Forms will not be sent home with student and no emails will be accepted. This window is a tight timeline and no input will be taken after this date. I will make sure your child’s future teacher is able to meet his or her needs and provide high quality instruction. Thank you for all you do for the Payson Community.
Account Balances: Now is the time of year to check up on your student’s lunch account balances, library book returns and/or any fines they may have at the school. Please be diligent in settling up any balances or fines by the end of the year. Thank you in advance for your help on these matters.
End of Year Celebrations on Wednesday, May 23rd: We will be doing our final Behavior Reward celebration. Remember students that have received 2 behavioral tickets this 4th term or been In School or Out of School Suspended will not qualify to come on this final Reward Field Trip. 3rd through 6th will be going to the Payson Community Pool. PLEASE remember to wear modest swimsuits as well as clothes to walk to the pool and back. Parents are welcome to come and supervise however we are not allowed to have any younger or older siblings at the pool on this day. 1st through 2nd grade will be going to the Payson Stadium Cinemas to watch a movie. I will send out more details on this soon. If you have sighed up to bring a sack lunch from the school, the lunch account will be charged if the student decides to bring a home lunch instead.

Field Day: On Monday 21st we will have our Hero Field Day. Upper Grades will participate from 10:00 to 11:15. Lower grades will participate from 1:00 to 2:15. We appreciate all the parents that have volunteered to help out at the different stations. If you would like to help either am or pm or both, please let the office staff know ASAP. We ask that all volunteers come to the back field 15 minutes prior to the students participating.
Summer Office Hours: The office will be open Monday through Thursday 8:00 to 1:00 pm.

We want to welcome Mr. Clint Cornwall as part of our Taylor family! Mr. Cornwall will be Taylor’s title-1 Coordinator/Staff developer beginning next year! He has been teaching 3rd and 5th grades at Cherry Creek Elementary and is definitely a school favorite! He has been married for 6 years, has 3 children, enjoys camping, hunting, snowmobiling and a nice cold Dr. Pepper! Mr. Cornwall is excited to be a Taylor tiger!!!!

Our Yearbooks are in and they look amazing! Every page is colored and the pictures are so clear. We are so excited how well they turned out. It is not to late to order yours. You can go to the Taylor Elementary Website: taylor.nebo.edu Click on PAY ONLINE! and then Yearbook OR Come into our Front Office and pay Mrs. Young. Make checks payable to Taylor Elementary School. We will be handing them out on May 14th. This will give your student a few weeks to get autographs.

We have our Family Read with Our Hero Celebration next Monday, May 7, 2018 at 5:00pm. If you have not RSVP, please do so by May 2nd. We need to know how many family members are going to be eating pizza. We have asked that you let the teacher of your OLDEST child know this information.
