The fifth-grade classes at Spring Lake Elementary recently enjoyed a fantastic field trip to the State Capitol in Salt Lake City on February 13, 2018. They enjoyed learning about the vital work that goes on at the Capitol for our state’s citizens. While there, students had an opportunity to see the state legislature in action by observing in both the senate and house galleries. Both Senator Henderson and Representative Marc Roberts took time to meet with students, share their experiences and answer questions about serving in the Legislature. The day ended with the students being given a private tour of the building. This field trip served as a wonderful culmination for their Constitution unit.

The challange begins February 1st.

There are exactly 20 weekdays in February. Students are encouraged to read every week night throughout the month. Each night after you have complete your reading, punch or park off a square on your punch card. If you miss a night, make up the time by reading more on the next night or on the weekends. The goal is daily reading, so only ONE punch per day (unless you are making up for a missed day). Turn in your punch card by March 1st. The punch card will be your child's ticket to our Seuss-a-palooza Event to be held on March 2nd. Let's get reading!
