The 4th grade classes at Riverview demonstrated their understanding of the scientific method with an egg drop.  The goal was to not let their egg crack after being dropped off the roof of the school.  Students built their own projects in hopes of keeping their egg safe.  Students took notes on the process of the scientific method. The students enjoyed watching their eggs fall from the roof to see if they would survive.

Learning is our vision!

Tue, 08/15/2017 - 6:06pm

(more pictures available)

Riverview’s learning philosophy rests on the four vision principles - Building Learning Capacity, Collaborating, Making Meaning and Break Through. The focus on developing learners’ capacity to thrive in tricky situations - knowing what to do when they don’t know what to do - is valued highly. Teachers explicitly teach learners strategies to get out of ‘I’m stuck’ situations. Being stuck is celebrated and harnessed as an opportunity to build each individual’s learning capacity. We have learner powers that are integrated into all learning. The Learner Powers are an important part of Building Learning Capacity and are Reflect, Question, Connect, Think, Be Self Aware, Wonder and Be Determined.

Registration Information

Attributions:

I hope you have enjoyed a great summer so far!

School is around the corner.

To register, please click on this link and follow all the steps:  http://riverview.nebo.edu/registration

On-site registration is available on Tuesday, August 1st from 8:00-4:00.

***Please note: If you have already attended Riverview Elementary last year, you would choose the option "Returning Student". It will then ask you what your child's student ID number is. If you have forgotten your students ID number, please call the school at 801-798-4050 M-Thurs. 8-1 pm.

Registration is the process of providing or verifying your student's information, and signing any documents required by the district or by legislation; this can be done online to save time. Additional documentation is also required for first-time students or if any of these additional documents have changed for a returning student; these additional documents must be delivered in person.  Donations are also part of the registration process. Donations help pay for field trips, assemblies, school wide activities, special grade level events, and more. The suggested one time amount is $25 per student for the entire year.  All other extracurricular fee amounts available on RevTrak will be updated throughout the year as the clubs/groups begin.

Your student will only be Enrolled into classes after the school verifies the completion of the Registration process and that all required documentation has been provided.

NOTE:  Kindergarten students did pre-register in March; however, they still need to do online registration (to verify information and sign required documents) in order to complete the registration process.

Online Registration is done yearly.

Help Our School Earn Money with Macey's School Cents Program

Tue, 07/25/2017 - 3:34pm

Macey's serves our community and local schools with the continuation of the School Cents program. Last year, Riverview earned $788.37 from the School Cents program.

The School Cents program will continue to run through the Macey’s Perks® program, allowing them to electronically track the credit each school earns. Schools will earn 1% back on eligible purchases from July 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018. Please note that gift cards, tobacco and alcohol purchases, pharmacy expenses and sales tax will not count toward our school’s earnings. Final numbers will be calculated on April 1, 2018 and a check will be issued shortly thereafter. Participating schools are eligible to earn up to $10,000 per school year.

The success of the School Cents program depends on our school’s supporters. Please shop at Macey’s and link your Macey’s Perks account to our school.  All you will need to do is link your account this year, even if you have linked it in the past. For directions on how to link an account, visit

 http://maceys.com/posts/support-your-childs-school.

If you don’t have a Macey’s Perks account you can easily sign up by visiting any Macey’s location.

Thank you for supporting Riverview Elementary!
