SAVE the DATE!!! We will be holding our annual Back to School Social on Monday the 17th at 6:00 pm. We will provide Hot dogs for dinner and be entertained by Yahosh Bonner. You may remember Yahosh from Fiesta Days Music in the Park during the summer. He is amazing and we are thrilled he is able to join us. Bring your chairs and blankets, and socialize with other Rees families while you enjoy a hot dog with your family. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Monday night will also serve as our KICK-OFF to our S.O.A.R. week festivities at school. We will be having several fun activities for the students to implement and incorporate Serving and Supporting, Owning Our Actions and Words, Aiming High to Achieve, and Respect in their lives.

We are excited to welcome three new teachers to Rees Elementary this year.
Ashley Roberts has been teaching for 7 years, and she is excited to join us in 2nd grade. Ashley grew up in Lake Shore, attended UVU and is married with 2 kids. They enjoy hunting and camping as a family. Her favorite children's books are Amelia Bedelia. One of her bucket list items is to go to New Zealand. Her favorite treat is Diet Coke. She is excited to be at Rees and we are thrilled to have her!
Arianna Bates is interning this year in our Special Ed. department. She grew up in SLC and went to East High. She will graduate from BYU at the completion of her year here. She lived in Frankfurt, Germany for two years whilse serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loves to read, watch movies and do genealogy. A bucket list item of hers is to be a wedding crasher and photobomb new couples getting married. Her favorite treat is brownies and ice cream. She is a great addition to our staff and we are happy to have her join us.
Clarissa Putnam joins us in Kindergarten this year. Clarissa is splitting her day between here and Brockbank Elementary and we appreciate her willingness to do both. She was born in California but moved to Sandy, Utah when she was just a baby. Clarissa has three older siblings- 2 sisters and 1 brother. They are all married and have kids. She is positive that she is the favorite aunt! (10 and counting) Clarissa loves to hike, swim, read, watch movies, play with her nieces and nephews, and four-wheel. She loves Mexican food and basically any candy! She says "she is addicted to ice water (weird, I know.)" On her bucket list is to travel Europe, skydive, visit the 7 wonders, and own a library like Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Clarissa loves teaching because she gets to be with kids ALL DAY! "I love their energy, quick wits, and ability to love and laugh every minute of every day!" We are so happy to have Clarissa and have appreciated HER energy and ability to laugh.
We would love to have all of our Rees Eagles join us for our Back to School Openhouse on Monday, August 29th. The school will be open from 1:00-3:00 pm for you to come meet your teachers. We are excited to start another great year at Rees Elementary.

“Mr. Wright is a positive influence on the children in his classes. He does an amazing job of preparing kids for junior high. Each SEP I have attended has been a positive and uplifting experience for myself and my child. He helps students feel confident with their abilities.”
“Mr. Wright is so awesome! I don’t know how many years he’s been teaching at Rees, but I know it’s a lot. He deserves an award because you can tell he really cares about his students and their learning. I believe he truly wants them to succeed at their highest potential and gets his students ready for junior high. You can tell he wants them to enjoy learning and has them engaged in activities that will help spark an interest. Mr. Wright has been easy to talk to, and I feel he has addressed any questions or concerns I might have had with my child. He sends home a weekly sheet with his students on what’s going on in their class that week, and that’s very helpful! Again, Mr. Wright deserves an award because he does an incredible job!”
“Mr. Wright is amazing!! He is so good at getting the kids ready for junior high. He loves each kid individually and highlights the good things they are doing. He excels in math and science and makes the kids excited about these subjects. My twins had him last year and almost every kid in their class qualified for honors math the following year. His smile is his greatest quality. It is genuine and seems to always be on his face. I highly recommend him for this award and hope you consider him.”
“Nate is a Nebo Hero. Nate is a GIANT of a man with a big heart and contagious smile. He is a role model to his students by the way he treats others and how he teaches them to respect one another. He cares deeply about the success of his students. Parents have come back to me and expressed how much they appreciate the way he prepared their students for junior high. He takes on extra duties like science fair and chess club along with any other needs in the school and does so willingly. He is involved in coaching in the community and has a huge impact on not only Rees students, but students throughout the district.”
