Our 4th graders have been studying about Native American tribes in Utah. Using graham crackers, frosting, chocolate chips and licorice ropes they were able to map out where all the tribes lived in our state. Great job 4th graders!
Larsen 2nd graders visited the Utah County Equestrian Park in Lehi for their first field trip of the year. They were able to learn more about goat, pigs, horses and other farm animals. Students also were taught how shepherd dogs help round up all the sheep herd. The 2nd graders also learned that many things we use and eat daily are made from some of these animals. After all the fun at the Equestrian Park, they got to eat lunch at Discovery Park in Pleasant Grove. What a fun filled day! Thank you to the parents who came along and helped.
Hello Larsen Families-
As you've noticed, we've worked this week to make changes to our student drop off procedures. This has been a concern for staff, SCC, PTA, and parents for years. We recently had a parent come to us with an idea that we thought would work, given our short drop off lane and other difficult circumstances that we encounter each morning. Thank you first off to the many patient parents. We appreciate your smiles, waves, and willingness to help improve things for the safety of all students, and know that it would not work as well as it has without you. When we see kids hoping out of cars in the middle of the street, or running through the driving lanes, it just brings worries that we could easily have an injured child as a result. So as we continually work to protect our students, we hope that the extra couple of minutes that it takes to follow our new procedures, will be more than worth it to our families as students will safely arrive at school. The main points of our new procedure: * . Drive as far toward the end of the lane as possible * . Have students only exit their vehicle once the car has stopped pass the final bend in the sidewalk * . The left lane is a drive through, exiting lane only If you have any additional questions or concerns, we welcome them. Please stop by the office and visit with Mrs. Thomas at anytime.
It was fun to have members of the MMHS football team come and read with students at Larsen Elementary in 3rd and 5th grades. A few of the players were even past students of our school and have siblings that attend here. Thank you MMHS football for visiting our school and helping kids enjoy reading.
We wanted to remind parents that tomorrow school will be out at 12:00 PM. Please make arrangements to have your students picked up at that time so that teachers can get to their training. Thank you!
