This year educators were invited from the Deaf-Blind School to enact a simulation in our classrooms. This was done to help the students understand the challenges facing students in our classroom. The students learned a great deal and have developed a great sense of empathy for all students with disabilities.

Mrs. Headman's Class Wins the Gold

First-grade had an Olympic Reading Competition between classes. Students worked very hard and read every night for two weeks. Mrs. Headman's Class took home the gold! Congratulations to all students for doing their best reading.
Box Tops Class Winners

Students have been competing to see which class could bring in the most Box Tops. The winners of the competition are in third place, Mr. Stutz's class with 414; second place, Mrs. Gibson's class with 456; and in first place, with a total of 956 Box Tops, is Mrs. Bailey's class! Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated!
Kindergarten Happenings

A lot has been going on in Kindergarten the last couple of weeks. From celebrating Valentine's Day and One Hundredth Day, to using scales to compare objects, these kids are learning lots and having fun.
Friendship Week
Monday- “How I can be a friend”- Heart banners created & hung in main school hallway
Tuesday- “Get to know you day”- Wear your favorite color to school
Wednesday- “How to keep a friend”- Friendly notes exchanged with classes
Thursday- “Friends of all ages”- Activities with our older/younger friends
Friday- “Stand by your friend”- Wear Crazy socks to school. Maddie Wilson will be visiting our school for a fun assembly.
Track and Field is about to begin

Track and Field season is about to start. To join, you just need to get a form from the office, sign up on registermyathlete.com, get a doctor's physical, and pay a $45 fee to the finance office.
There is going to be a Pre-Season meeting with the coaches during advisory on the 27th of February. This year looks like it's going to be a fun year.
