Mt Nebo Receives Energy Star Award

Mt Nebo Junior High School News - Wed, 04/11/2018 - 1:16pm

Mt. Nebo Jr. High is proud to have received the Energy Star® Certification, in recognition of superior energy performance. Buildings that earn the EPA's Energy Star® use 35% less energy and generate 35% fewer greenhouse emissions than similar buildings across the nation.

Over the last 3 years Nebo School District has issued an Energy Incentive Challenge to the facilities in their boundaries. Energy Star® applications were sent in for 44 facilites and ALL 44 qualified. This is an amazing feat because in order to qualify a building must score in the top 75 percentile compared against other schools in the nation. Our district average was 99, with many schools scoring a perfect 100.

With 44 Energy Star® Certifications earned, Nebo School District has the most certified facilities out of any organization in the state of Utah. Now that's something to celebrate!

Energy Star Certification

Taylor Elementary News - Tue, 04/10/2018 - 5:25pm

Have you ever looked in the window of Taylor Elementary and wondered what this Energy Star sign is all about? Well let us tell you!

Recently our district applied to earn the Energy Star Certification and out of 44 facilities, ALL 44 qualified! This is amazing feat because in order to qualify a building must score in the top 75 percentile compared against other schools in the nation. We are proud to say Taylor Elementary was one of those 44 facilities in Nebo School District!

"Our staff has embraced the energy conservation program on our campus." said Mrs. Robbins. "We put forth a daily effort to reduce energy use in our building. Simple things like remembering to turn off all technology and turn lights off when not in use has made a huge difference in our building. We have all gained a sense of accomplishment from this recognition. Our students are also learning what it means to preserve natural resources."

We are proud to say Nebo School District has the most certified facilities out of any organization in the state of Utah. We are the Energy Star leader in the state. Taylor Elementary would like to personally thank Mr. Bodie Bradley and Mr. Russell Maughan, our District Energy Specialist, for making this happen!
