We learned our new school dance! We had great teachers teaching the students.

We also had a DJ come and have an outdoor concert in the back for our students, they loved it!

We love our students and appreciate what great kids they are!

We are off to a great year!

Because of the support from our wonderful Brockbank families, the PTA, and Nebo School District, Brockbank has a new marquee! Thanks to everyone, the first day of school the whole school participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our new marquee. We would like to especially thank Brandy Mascher, Lisa Dunn, and Kristen Bowen for all their hard work keeping the students motivated and excited to bring in their box tops so we could earn enough money (with some help from Nebo School District) to get our marquee. Keep bringing in your box tops!

Mrs. Goates, seventh-grade science teacher extraordinaire, is now teaching Biology at SFJH.  And as usual, her ninth-grade students are already having some extraordinary scientific adventures.

Mrs. Goats reported, “On the first day of school, my biology classes went on a scavenger hunt to see which biological processes they could already recognize outside. We made some great discoveries including this GIANT caterpillar.”

Awesome stuff, Mrs. Goates!  Stay tuned, SFJH parents.  Who knows what else these students will discover.

Rees Eagles S.O.A.R!  This year Rees is implementing a new PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support) using the acronym S.O.A.R.  In our opening assembly we learned that S stands for Serve and Support, O stands for Own our Actions and Words, A stands for Aim High and Achieve and R stands for Respect.  As part of the kick off event, students had an exciting visit from Sundance, a Golden Eagle from the Great Basin Rehab located here in Spanish Fork.  They were able to learn some neat facts about Eagles that go along with S.O.A.R.  The students loved seeing the giant Golden Eagle spread its wings, and we know our Rees Eagles will fly high this year too!

Thinking Like A Scientist

Spanish Fork Junior High School News - Thu, 08/24/2017 - 12:38pm

Today in Mr. Whiting’s Science 7 classes, students were “thinking like a scientist” as they performed an experiment testing the buoyancy of various objects. Using the scientific method, students had to hypothesize whether the object would float or sink, test by placing objects into water, record their findings, and draw a conclusion about the level to which objects floated or sunk.

Mr. Whiting created an interactive lab for students to examine and learn the scientific method that his classes will use all year as they “think like a scientist”!
