Loafer families, Please participate in the HALLOWEEN 2 LITER POP BOTTLE COMPETITION * Decorate a full 2L bottle of your favorite pop* Bring it to school* It will be judged on October 20th* We will give a prize to the ScariestMost Halloween Cutest Most unique* The pop will then be used as winning prizes in the Monster Mash game at the Halloween carnival-come and play! There are some examples attached. Get creative and have fun!

Goshen School celebrated National Walk to School Day today.  Spirit the Falcon, Goshen Mayor Fred Jensen, Deputy Poulsen from the Utah County Sheriff and Mrs. DeGraffenried all welcomed our students at the crosswalk as they came to school.  We would like to give a HUGE thanks to Loretta Brailsford, our crossing guard, who makes sure our students cross the highway safely on their way to and from school every day.

Hi my name is Madison McMullin.  I graduated  from Springville High and college from Brigham Young University.  This is my second year teaching. I am so excited to be teaching Special Education.  I was born in Provo and grew up in Springville.  I am the Youngest in my family.  I have two older brothers, and one sister-in-law. We are all currently living in Springville, it’s great.  My favorite things to do outside of school include: running, golfing, boating, dancing, watching movies, spending time with my family, and traveling.

The 2nd graders in Mrs. Hooley's class took a walking field trip to heritage park. They learned all about the community of the past, about the ways pioneers lived, and how to churn butter.  Special thanks to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for showing us all the amazing things right here in Salem.

5th Grade Visit Centennial Park

Fifth Graders went on a field trip last week. They walked to Centennial Park (soldiers had to walk a lot) and did Revolutionary War activities. These activities included making a hat (Yankee Doodle hat) with a feather, playing games (pick up sticks, cats cradle, and a solitaire game with beans), learning about Paul Revere's Ride, and learning some Von Steuben militia drills. The students had a great time.

4th Grade at the Natural History Museum

Last month 4th graders had the opportunity to go to the Natural History Museum at Thanksgiving Point. Students were able to check out lots of dionosaur bones and interesting displays. They even had a chance to do some digging of their own!

Employees from US Synthetics, a company in Orem that specializes in making polycrystaline diamond cutters for oil and gas exploration, came into the 6th grade classes, and taught them hands-on problem-solving strategies.
