Hello, Brockbank Families!

What a great beginning to the BEST year ever!  We had a great first week and we are ready for many more!  Thanks for having your child ready each day, on time, and with good attitudes!  Brockbank is such a wonderful place to be!

We want to welcome all of our new kindergarten students to school tomorrow!  We look so forward to each of them coming to Brockbank!  It will be a very special day!

Marquee:  We are thrilled with our new marquee and appreciate your support in having your child bring in Box Tops!  We had a special ribbon cutting ceremony on the first day of school and it was fun to have all of our students be a part of that celebration!  (We are still working out the bugs in learning how to work the marquee, and we plan to have the lights dim at nighttime.  Thanks so much for your patience!) Please continue to send your Box Tops, as you can see the wonderful things they can provide for our school!  At the end of last year, your child was given a sheet of paper to fill up with Box Tops.  Please send those sheets back to school!  We will start collecting them again!  Thanks for your support!

T-Shirts:  If you would like to order your child a Bronco T-shirt, we will take orders until Friday.

Picture Day;  Picture Day will be Thursday, Sept. 7th, all day long.  Please watch for picture packets to come home!

Pop Into Reading Celebration: We are hoping that your child read all summer long and kept track of his/her reading on the summer POP INTO READING Challenge!  Help your child remember to bring in his/her reading calendar from summer and turn it into the office.  We are planning our party on Sept. 8th!

As you know, we have a new theme and mission statement this year!  We hope you were able to get our parent letter at the Open House, along with the school magnet.  If you didn’t, please come and get them in the office.   The letter explains some safety policies that we want to make sure you know about.  PLEASE go over them with your child.  We want your child to be safe coming and leaving school.

We also invite you to LIKE us on Facebook, and follow us on Instagram, and Twitter, as well as our own Brockbank website!  Follow us on Instagram--#Brockbankbest, #Lookatbrockbank, and #BrockbankBFF

Thanks for your support and for sending us the BEST students ever!

Mrs. Nelson

Sierra Bonita 4th graders had the opportunity to participate in "ABC 4 Weatherbug" with meteorologist, Dan Pope, sponsored by Arbys. This broadcast was done on LIVE TV.  I will post the Broadcast once ABC 4 Utah posts it on their website.

What a fun opportunity for these students to see behind the scenes and maybe one day, they can be a meteorologist just like Dan Pope.  Students also sang the Sierra Bonita Song, some students were interviewed by the meteorologist, Dan Pope.

A HUGE Thank you to Arbys and ABC 4 Utah Weatherbug for allowing our students with this opportunity. A Thank you, Terena Anderson, for putting this all togther!

Dan Pope, was so incredible, he took time out of his busy schedule to take pictures with those who wanted them.

Meet Our New Teachers: Mrs. Cornaby Kindergarten

Mt Loafer Elementary News - Mon, 08/28/2017 - 2:11pm

My name is Nancy Cornaby and I'm excited to be teaching at Mt. Loafer.  I went to Utah State University and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in education.  This is my 13th year teaching and I love it.  I have taught kindergarten, first and second grades.  I grew up here in Salem and still live here with my family.  James and I have four children – 8 year old Nikale, 6 year old Jake, 5 year old Tate, and our Lucy is 2 months.  They make life exciting!  I had horses growing up so I enjoy riding and I’ve competed in a number of rodeos and horse shows.  I still love riding in the mountains gathering cattle with my family.  I also enjoy reading, camping and spending time with my family.

Hearing Screenings for Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd and 6th Grade Students

Sierra Bonita Elementary News - Mon, 08/28/2017 - 11:52am

(more pictures available)

Dear Parents,

Nebo School District offers free hearing screenings for all students in Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 6th grade.  Your child will receive this screening at Sierra Bonita on Wednesday September 6th. It takes about 3-5 minutes.

If for any reason your child does not pass this screening, he/she will be rescreened two weeks later. Often a child fails to pass the first screening due to fluid in ears, congestion, excessive ear wax, etc. This is why we rescreen them. Many children who fail the first screening go on to pass the second screening.

If, however, your child does not pass the second screening we will let you know. If this is the case, it is recommended that your child receive a full evaluation, which is offered free of charge through the district.

If for any reason you would prefer your child’s hearing NOT be screened, please return the bottom portion of this form to your child’s teacher before September 6th.  If you have any questions, please contact us. Thank you!

Reminder.....Early Out Day @ 2:30
