Learning Through Robotics: We are still accepting students for our Robotics class. It is held after school, every Thursday, for 9 weeks. This will be a great class where the students will be doing many hands-on activities with robots that they will build! Please contact the office if you are interested.
Nebo School District sincerely appreciates your support of Nebo School District and the opportunity to work together with you to provide an exceptional education for our students. We would appreciate your input on the Bond Survey before October 31. Please go to www.nebo.edu to begin the survey.
Nebo School District is in the initial planning process for a Bond Election to be held next year on November 6, 2018. Bonding is the primary method school districts use to construct new schools and meet other facility priorities. Bond money cannot be used for salaries and benefits.
Based on previous community feedback of wanting to move to the middle school model, Nebo School District plans to ask patrons to approve a $298 million dollar bond in November 2018. This tax-rate-neutral (no tax rate increase) bond will be used for:
1. Building three new middle schools for students in sixth and seventh grade. These middle schools will be located within the boundaries of Salem Hills High, Springville High, and Maple Mountain High. As the new middle schools are completed, Mt. Nebo Junior High and Diamond Fork Junior High will become middle schools;
2. Rebuilding Payson High, Spanish Fork High, and Springville High; and
3. Making improvements to existing buildings and sites. It is estimated that approximately $10 million dollars of bond funds will be focused on upgrades and improvements.
The Nebo School Board's decision on which projects to include will rely on public input and recommendations from parent committees.
In accordance with state law, the Nebo School Board will finalize all plans prior to the 2018 Bond Election so the voting public will know the specific plans before voting. In the coming months, please continue to look for additional bond information at www.nebo.edu and in meetings held throughout Nebo School District.
Again, Nebo School District sincerely appreciates your input and support of Nebo School District. Please go to www.nebo.edu to begin the survey.

Today was the first day that Cherry Creek welcomed the Latinos In Action students from Springville Junior High, under the supervision of Mr. Glen Beebe. This group of Spanish speaking students will come once a week for a half hour to help our students with reading or math, regardless of whether our students speak Spanish or English. The Latinos In Action group set such a good example to our students of helping one another and working hard even when learning a second language. Thanks for your service!

The 6th Graders researched and constructed projects about Ancient Egypt.
All students should be picked up and dropped off curbside and should NEVER walk through lanes. Be patient, follow the rules and the line will move quickly and students can stay safe!
Mrs. Jorgensen’s and Mr. Andersen’s class play a cooperative song activity game at the beginning of the year. Students have to get out of their comfort zone and get partners they have not had before to win the game.
Nate Thompson scrubbed the desks and tables, Riker Zufelt helped his brother and stayed with him when he was hurt, Ben Smith is helpful in the classroom, Carter Barthalomew always sets a good example for everyone by silently reading, Jonas Benson picked up A LOT of trash from the playground, Charlie Smith helped a kindergartener with their pumpkin, Talia Sroufe makes sure her work is neat, organized and easy to read, Lincoln Tibbs played with someone that was sitting on the buddy bench, and Gunnar Weight also played with someone from the buddy bench.
Thanks students for trying hard everyday to make yourself, your classrooms and our school a better place!

The fifth graders had a visit from Kimball Arts Center. Heather came to teach the fifth graders about the artist Jimmi Toro. She shared his artwork and interesting facts about him. Then, she visited each of the fifth grade classes to create a Jimmi Toro inspired piece. They stated by drawing a blind contour, then a continuous line self portrait and finally a final copy where they added color and ink. The students had a blast!

Students worked ing groups (detective agencies) to solve the mystery of what really happened during the Boston Massacre. They looked at primary and secondary resources to solve the mystery.
Our PTA is so excited for this Friday morning 8:30-9:00 am before school! Reflections entries are due!
If at all possible, we encourage a parent a guardian to join your student when they turn their entries in so we can make sure then and there that we have the right forms and signatures filled out correctly. This saves us time and it saves you from making an extra trip to the school.
Students will receive a small treat that morning for EACH entry they enter (they can enter up to one per category) AND the PTA sponsors this program so we can give out medals, ribbons, and/or certificates to each participant depending on the level of award they receive. Our Reflections Honors Night will be November 14th at 7 pm and all students who enter are invited to come and celebrate their efforts with their families!
All students who receive PTA Reflections’ highest award will also be eligible to move on to the district level and beyond and receive more recognition depending on how far they go!
We love the Reflections program and we love to see our Sierra Bonita students’ imaginations come alive through art!
You can find information, forms, and rules at Utahpta.org/reflections.
Please call or text Amy van Dyk with any questions! 801-691-6931
We hope to see you and your student FRIDAY morning BEFORE school (8:30-9:00 am on the school stage)!
